Country Valley Foods is a catering butcher and foodservice company serving top hotels, restaurants and food producers in the North East of England and North Yorkshire with excellent restaurant quality locally sourced fresh meat, poultry and chef’s products.
Country Valley’s customers include Kenny Atkinson of The Orangery Restaurant, Rockliffe Hall Hotel in Hurworth. Shooting to fame in 2009 on BBC’2s Great British Menu with his winning Beef Salad starter and again in 2010, with the winning fish course, Kenny is now a regular on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen with James Martin.
The Bay Horse Hurworth owned by business partners Marcus Bennett & Jonathan Hall has in less than 3 years scooped numerous awards including a Michelin Bib Gourmand (2 years running) and The Morning Advertiser’s Chef of the Year and Top 10 Pub of the Year. The Bay Horse set in beautiful Hurworth village offers classic English dishes such as Grand Reserve Roast Beef and Grand Reserve Fillet Steak with hand cut chips.
Pan Haggerty Restaurant located on the Quayside in Newcastle is home of the hugely experienced Head Chef Simon Wood. In 2010 Pan Haggerty won the coveted Best New Restaurant award in the annual Gourmet Society’s North East Restaurant Awards and is also recommended in the Michelin Guide.
Chadwicks Inn, Maltby was recently awarded two AA Rosettes for “an excellent standard” and “using good quality ingredients”. After just over a year in business this is a huge achievement for owners Gary Gill and his wife Helen, and Head Chef Matthew Roath.
The famous McCoys at The Tontine has won numerous awards since opening in 1981, including most recently North East Restaurant of The Year (2009). Owner Eugene McCoy was one of the original guest judges on Masterchef and Head Chef Simon Walley has worked in Michelin Star restaurants in London and Australia.
At The Bay Horse, Hutton Rudby, Matthew Brown & his wife Catherine have been offering excellent locally sourced dishes including “Five Hour” Grand Reserve Brisket of Beef and “Chunky” Grand Reserve Beef and Ale Pie. The Bay Horse offers a wonderful laid back and traditional atmosphere.
